My name is Dawn (Garavaglia) Powierski. 

I am a local baker, located in Lincoln, MI. Originally, I grew up in a small town in the Thumb. I know what small town living is all about. 

I started baking cakes 29 years ago when my oldest wanted a Thomas the tank engine cake. At that time, there wasn't any character pan, so I was left to my own devices. I wish I had a picture of that first cake. I was so proud of how it turned out! 

Over the years, I've done many birthday, wedding, and specialty cakes. My own wedding is coming up in June. You can bet that I'm making my own cake! 

Life eventually throws curve balls at us. This was the case for me. In 2019, I got an infection in my spinal column that caused paralysis throughout my whole body. It took many months of physical therapy to get me to where I am today. I'll never be 100%, but baking again has been a highlight lately. If my cakes and cookies can make someone's day special, then I'll be a happy person!
